SOH Association

The orphanage was founded in 2001 by a German visitor, Christa Wolff from Berlin.

On the 9th January 2013, due to Christa's retirement, the management of the orphanage was handed over to the Sisters of St. Joseph.

We are a non-profit registered association, which has made it its business to give needy children in Kenya a future.

The children's home near Mombasa has given a home to about 50 children since its opening in 2005.

Kenyan laws now require that the children are only allowed to stay in a home for a maximum of 3 years. After that they are to be reintegrated into their families and villages.

Since the welfare of the children is our top priority, we will create another initiative in the future to ensure that the children are cared for outside the home.

The association is still reliant on your donations and sponsorships to ensure the well-being of the children and establish a brighter future for them.

In addition to the existing sponsorship for the children, we continue to look for opportunities to setup future project-sponsorships.
